From the games perspective, the game timeline of “Sonic’s Legacy” takes place after the events of “Sonic 06”.  And before you ask, the “Sonic Boom Series” is not included in the series as I personally view it as alternate reality to save my own mind.

From the comics perspective, the comic timeline takes place before the comic rewrite after the Megaman Crossover, so the Megaman Crossover and the events of the rewrite, never happened in the story of “Sonic’s Legacy” and the “Sonic’s Legacy Chronicles”.

The Mobian Freedom Fighter’s mission is to protect the citizens of Mobius from tyranny of all forms as best as they can.  With not many members, this is a very daunting task; however, they do work with other teams they’re allied with as support with the same goals.

What’s in a Name?

The Mobian Freedom Fighters name is pretty self-explanatory. 

This team serves to protect all of the beings of Mobius from tyranny and help out other teams around them in their alliance.  The “Mobian” in the name stands for the world “Mobius” they protect, not necessarily that they only protect “Mobians” the species. 

The name “First Company” is actually a short handle made by the Genesis team, referring to the team that started the charge against the Exus.

Team Logo: What IS that thing?

The logo of the Mobian Freedom Fighters is a silhouette of the team’s founder, Sonic the Hedgehog in memory of him.

Where it Began?

This team actually started way back in the time of Robotnik’s War after the First Freedom Fighters (the first to fight against Robotnik, and the team that actually inspired Sonic and his friends to start their Freedom Fighter  team, the Knothole Freedom Fighters)

After the Robotnik War, the team continued into the Eggman War and fought against him and his cohorts until the team was forced to disband temporarily due to an event which forced the team to go their separate ways.

From that, Sonic Hedgehog and his “little bro” Miles “Tails” Prower, continued the fight against Dr. Eggman, with the help of some of their friends and former members every once in a while when they met by chance.  The citizens of Mobius still called Sonic and the former members “the Freedom Fighters” and the name is still in used to refer to them today by some of the ones that remember them from back then. 

It wasn’t until a couple years later when Sonic reformed the team again with the help of Tails and Amy Rose, calling it the Mobian Freedom Fighters.  Though the team wasn’t considered completely official, the members belonging to other teams as well as moving on with their lives in different directions only coming when they were called when Eggman reared his ugly head again,  the Mobian Freedom Fighters were a force to be reckoned with, stopping the evil doctor’s plans at every turn. 

Sonic was the leader of this team for years and the leader didn’t think of thinking long term in who would take over for him if something did happen.  He just never thought of it, until something happened that gave him a serious reality check.  During that time, Tails had proven to be an effective leader and it was decided that it would be Tails that would take over for him in event that something did happen….which eventually it did.

At the end of Eggman’s War with the event Ground Zero (the event where one of Eggman’s Chaos Energy Reactors blew up, affecting everything in a 5 mile radius just after and spreading Chaos Energy all over the globe), Sonic was never seen again and presumed dead.  Thus Tails became the leader of the Mobian Freedom Fighters, rather reluctantly at first as Tails didn’t think of himself as a leader, while the team members disagreed. 

Now Tails is an effective and strong leader of the Mobian Freedom Fighters.  Despite being a small team, the Mobian Freedom Fighters acts not only as a Freedom Fighter Team, but also a team that is leading the charge in the other Freedom Fighter teams they are allied with.

Base Location(s) and Details

The Mobian Freedom Fighters’ base is located on the massive continent of Mongor in the Great Mobian Mountains, the main entrance of which is in a cave in the side of one of the lower faces of the range.  The entrance is large enough for the X Tornado 2 to be able to fly through without any trouble.

Inside the base just passed the runway/entrance is a large hanger door which leads straight to the base’s hangar.  The hangar itself is deep inside the cave with two entrances to outside, one that is the large hangar door, which slides open from the middle to either side.  The other entrance is for pedestrians, which can get through a door that is part of the right side of the massive hangar doors going in.  The door leads to a flight of stairs, which also slide to the side with the hanger door when opened.  The hangar itself is lined with metal walls and large enough to house four planes in show and has elevator floor panels that can elevate and rotate planes above and below the show room (main floor).  Under one of these is a huge beam cannon that Tails developed (see Sonic’s Legacy Volume 1, chapter 6: Scars), that with the right code and raise up from the floor.  Tail’s room is toward the back of the hangar through a door as he works a lot and at the time when the base was constructed, Tails was still recovering from injury, so being closer to the hangar made it easier for him, though he still lives in that room now as well.

Through a door to the right is the living quarters of the base, which looks like the inside of a decent sized house.  The doorway opens up to a living room and kitchen in the same spacious room.  The living room has two couches sitting across from each other with a coffee table between them and an extra chair in the middle. 

Under the balcony from the second floor is the entrance into the infirmary and another entrance into a hallway that leads to both Knuckles’ room and Cream’s room respectively  Cheese the Chao also lives with Cream of course.

Off from the living room portion of the room there are a flight of stairs that takes you to the guest rooms and Nikki’s Room (which they still keep for her just in case she decides to stay over). Each room is small, but they accommodate as best they can.

The base also has a security system called Seth: Security and Engineer of Technology and House.  The system has a personality which was programmed in and is very friendly; however he will defend the base and its members when necessary and can be paranoid at times.

Sadly no, no you can’t.  However, the team Genesis is the direct ally to this team, so you can be in Genesis and work with the Mobian Freedom Fighters.
